A Shared iPad is an iPad that can be used by multiple users but will allow individual users to use personalized settings and apps. When teachers assign Shared iPads, students recognize iPads assigned to them by their photos appearing on the unlock screen. With a password or pin code, students can access their personal documents and apps. Everything is stored on the device and in iCloud. After logging in, students can continue where they left off last time.
Managed Apple ID
Apple School Manager automatically creates managed Apple IDs for all users. Managed Apple IDs allow users to access storage space in iCloud without school losing control. For example, pupils cannot buy or download apps from the app store and a number of services are disabled for managed IDs (iCloud-mail, FaceTime). With managed Apple IDs the Shared iPad function can be used.
